The Editor Reviews: A Weekend In The City

Seeing as I’m thousands of miles from a decent record shop (and cheap), I listened to this, Bloc Party’s second album, here (their myspace site). First impressions are good – the melancholia rings true and the drums are a little more driving this time, although in places the lyrics are a little specific (to the point where they seem simple and obvious). Apparently, Kele Okereke got fed up of “hiding behind abstraction.” Hmm. Anyway, you can hear an interview (typically unenlightening) and listen to some live tracks here.
